JEAN IDELUS EDME
Born in Carrefour in 1966. He began painting in 1982 with Jean Pierre Vilme, and in 1985 started
painting at the Centre d’Art, where he is now also assistant
director. He paints a variety of subjects, some historical, some contemporary, almost all
well-peopled. He experiments with his painting, and is currently making use of a
thick applique of oil paint and palette knife to highlight his
subjects. He lives with his wife and five children outside of
Port-au-Prince.
